![]() Retribution Paladins (and Protection Paladins, for that matter) have been extremely popular in recent days, as WoW players have begun to realize the class’ strength as an effective self-healer. Instrument of Retribution-which gives the Paladin a free use of Avenging Wrath whenever an allied party member dies-will have its buff duration decreased from 12 seconds to nine seconds. Retribution Paladins will be receiving a flat nerf to all of their damage, with a baseline reduction of three percent to all sources of DPS. The spec was completely reworked in Patch 10.0.7, and has turned into a DPS juggernaut in both Mythic+ dungeons and raids ever since. It ignores opening cards in slots you had once but disenchanted, on the deliberate 'logic' that if you disenchanted it, you don't ever want it again, even beyond once its the only empty slot left.Retribution Paladin will be receiving a serious set of nerfs on live WoW: Dragonflight servers, Blizzard has announced. Contacted Blizzard and they explained the above to me, about the flag set by disenchanting, which says you never get it in a pack again, until you have all the other non-flagged cards, and then, only on a purely random basis.ĭuplicate protection only works through the first time you fill any given card slot. ![]() I learned this by disenchanting a legendary in a full set, thinking 'no sweat, I will get him back next legendary I open' but NOPE, didn't get him on any of the next 4 Legendary cards opened, just duplicates of others. Once the only 'missing' cards you have at a given rarity are all cards you have disenchanted, you will STILL not get ANY of those missing cards automatically, only on the old-fashioned 100% random basis. This is because once disenchanted, the part of dup protection that gives you cards you do not have is forever turned off for that card.īecause many folks do not have experience or understanding of this fact, I will repeat in slightly different wording: it is because once you set a 'this was disenchanted once' flag on a card slot, you will NEVER open that card in a pack again until:ġ.) there are no other cards left of that rarity that you do not haveĢ.) only on a purely random basis after that It is important to understand why getting it from packs again is much harder than during duplicate protection. That caveat is this: Do NOT forget that disenchanting sets a flag in the duplicate protection that says 'I do not ever want this card again until I have all the others.' That's important, because the ONLY way to easily get it back once you disenchant it is to craft it again, which can sometimes be difficult if you are low on dust and duplicates. Now that its a thing, there is a caveat folks should know, to avoid a misunderstanding and disappointment. I mean, I know this article does not come out and say that, but its kind of a perception still in the Hearthstone culture from before duplicate protection was a thing. One tip I would like to start seeing in articles like this is a caveat to the usual advice of 'always disenchant, its full price, so you can always make it later at no loss'. It doesn't matter though, we'll always take a quality of live improvement and as they say, the second best time to plant a tree is today. An excellent addition to the game that unfortunately took this long to make happen. No more do we need to manually go looking for refund-capable cards because Blizzard added in a new keyword that will find them for you.īy typing "refund" in the collection manager search box, you will now be able to find these cards together and make your decision on whether or not they are getting dusted. When Patch 21.0 hit with preparations for United in Stormwind, a very important feature was added to the collection manager. New Feature: Refund Keyword in the Collection With that said, we'll have a reminder post go live in advance of the end of the disenchant period. We always recommend getting your dust as soon as possible though so you don't forget to take advantage of the situation. ![]() When Blizzard offers dust refunds for nerfed and changed cards, they do so for two weeks following the patch. The above cards will all remain disenchantable for full arcane dust value through August 31. When Do August's Card Nerfs Dust Refunds End? We hope that these changes will give a bit more room for slower strategies to find success in this meta, and we’ll continue to keep an eye on the live game to see if any further changes are needed. Overall, this translates to two things: limiting the efficiency at which combo decks can assemble the pieces they need to win, and reducing the burst damage that board-based decks have access to from hand. Dev Comments: After two weeks of monitoring the rapidly evolving United in Stormwind launch metagame, we’re making a few balance changes to slow down the speed of the game by a turn or two. |
